What you’ll find here

Picture a small workshop at the edge of the internet: not a platform that wants to own your week, but a shelf of instruments you can pick up when something does not quite behave. That is more or less what ve.ms tries to be. We run checks for DNS and WHOIS, ping and TLS certificates, mail paths and blacklists, and the odd speed test. There is a pasteboard for sharing text without drama, a link shortener when a URL grows legs, and smaller helpers for PDFs, images, and the curiosity of seeing what headers and cookies a page really sends.

Everything runs on machines in Germany. We do not sell space on the page to advertisers; the site is quiet on purpose.

Reach for these tools when you are about to ship a change, when mail starts bouncing for no obvious reason, or when you simply want a second pair of eyes on a record or a certificate. They are not meant to replace your monitoring stack or your security programme—only to answer a concrete question, quickly, and then let you get back to work.

If you create an account, you can use encrypted pastes (the heavy lifting stays in your browser; we only store ciphertext), tidy themed pages, the link tools, and a handful of saved presets. Some ideas—freemail-flavoured experiments, dyndns-style conveniences—still live only in our notebooks; when they are ready, they will land here too.

The Tools hub is the full catalogue, sorted so you can browse without memorising filenames. When you are done reading and something is on your mind, the section below on writing to us is the place to start.

How we think about ve.ms

ve.ms began as a side project and it has stayed one: something built by people who like servers, mail, and the small satisfactions of a well-formed DNS answer. We are not a company with a sales deck. We add a tool when it scratches an itch we actually feel—when we have needed the same check more than once and grown tired of juggling half a dozen tabs to get it.

What we care about is clarity. A result you can read without a manual. An honest sentence on the page when a feature has limits, because pretending otherwise helps nobody. We would rather you know up front that we are not your round-the-clock operations centre than discover it the hard way.

Alongside the one-off utilities you will find an encrypted pasteboard, a link shortener, and optional accounts for people who want their presets and pages to follow them. The voice stays the same throughout: plain language, no ceremony.

Servers, silence, and privacy

The hardware lives in Germany, inside the European Union. When you run a check, we try to do only what that moment asks for—run it, show you the outcome, and avoid gathering more than we need to remember. There are no third-party ad networks woven into the layout, and no analytics scripts that follow you from page to page. If you want the full legal picture, our privacy policy and terms of service spell it out in detail.

If you’d like to write

Perhaps you have a question, an idea for a tool, or something we ought to know about how the site is being used. You will find how to reach us on the Contact Info page. We read every message; replies come when life allows, but they do come.

Tell us enough story that we can help: what you tried, what you expected, what happened instead. For security-sensitive matters or abuse reports, context is the difference between a useful answer and a guess. We do not publish turnaround guarantees—we are human, and small—but nothing you send is treated as junk mail.
