Client Speedtest

Measure the connection between your device and this server (Europe): Ping, Download speed and Upload speed. Start the test, then run it from your browser.

Why run a connection speed test?

This speed test measures ping, download, and upload between your device and our server. Use it to check broadband speed, verify your ISP, or troubleshoot slow connections.

Reference: what speed do I need?

Rough guide for typical use (stable connection; actual needs vary with quality and concurrent use). After a test, "With your connection" above shows what is typically possible with your result.

UseDownload (approx.)Upload (approx.)PingNotes
Web browsing, email1–5 MbpsBasic use

HD video streaming (720p)3–5 MbpsSingle stream
Full HD (1080p)5–10 MbpsSingle stream

Online gaming< 50 ms good; < 100 ms acceptableLatency matters
Cloud sync / backups5+ Mbps5–10+ MbpsUpload matters for backups
Large file uploads5–10+ MbpsFaster upload shortens wait

Ping (latency) matters for gaming and VoIP; download and upload matter for streaming and backups. Our "Good / Moderate / Slow" labels use thresholds around 50 / 150 ms for ping and 50 / 10 Mbps for download and upload.

Quick tips

  • Close other apps and tabs that use the network for more accurate results.
  • Run the test a few times; speeds can vary. Wi‑Fi and congestion affect results.
  • Results depend on your location and our server (Europe). For a global view, use a provider with multiple test servers.

Things to consider

One test is a snapshot; run periodically to track changes. ISP and plan limits apply; wired connections usually give more stable results than Wi‑Fi.
